Team Kisseynew Breaks Yukon River Quest 2008 Course Record!
- After an exciting race, Team Kisseynew came in first place and set a new course record of 39 hours, 32 minutes and 43 seconds, beating the previous record by almost 1 hour. The Yukon River Quest is the longest canoe and kayak race in the world (740 km/460mi).

Kisseynew Voyageur Canoe Featured in Canadian Geographic Travel
- In the summer of 2007, a Kisseynew voyageur canoe participated in retracing a part of David Thompson's journey along the South Saskatchewan River. David Thompson was a famous Canadian cartographer and explorer. 2008 is the David Thompson bicentennial (and associated canoe race). This trip was named one of Canadian Geographic Travel's Top 5 Discovery Trips (March 2008 issue). Click here for a summary of the article.
Yukon River Quest 2007: Two Kisseynew Boats Finish in Top 3!
- Congratulations to Team Kisseynew! They finished in second place overall with a time of 42 hours 16 minutes and 47 seconds - over 40 minutes ahead of the voyageur record they set last at last year's YRQ. Team Kisseynew Skookum Asphalt finished in third place overall with a time of 45 hours 8 minutes and 11 seconds. Way to go guys! Click here for race results.
Kisseynew: Waterwalker Film Festival Sponsor
- There was a weekend of great paddling films and speakers held from March 23-24, 2007 at the Waterwalker Film Festival in Saskatoon. Speakers included: Lynda Holland, Laurel Archer and Paul Lapointe. Thanks to all who came out to look at our canoes and kits and materials for sale.

Hosted Successful Boat Building Workshop
- On February 3rd, 2007 Kisseynew Canoe Company hosted a successful boat building workshop organized by the Saskatoon Canoe Club. Participants learned and shared boat building techniques and tips from a variety of local boat builders in an informal lecture/demonstration format, including: cedar strip canoes, stitch & glue kayaks, and skin-on-frame kayak. Gets a New Home
- Kisseynew's original voyageur canoe was built in two halves because the backyard garage wasn't quite 25' long enough. This summer Kisseynew Canoe Company is happy to announce that they now have a much larger shop in which to craft many fine canoes. The shop is open by appointment.
Yukon River Quest 2006 - Record Smashed!
- On June 30, after 42 hours, 56 minutes and 16 seconds, Team Kisseynew - Denesuline Dalutweh smashed the Yukon River Quest voyageur class record by 12 hours - a new record! The YRQ is a 740 km paddling marathon from Whitehorse to Dawson, Yukon - but teams only have 100 hours to complete the race.

- Team 38 - Pauline Frost-Hanberg & Viki Cirkvencic (Viki is from Saskatoon). New women's record! Second in mixed tandem canoe - there was no women's tandem category.
- Team 59 - Famed author and guide Laurel Archer & Michele Genge. Third mixed tandem canoe. Thanks for the sharing the experience with us and those secret outrigger paddling tips.
- Team 82 - Andy Sewap & Dennis Fosseneuve (Cumberland House). Second in open tandem canoe. Way to go Deno and Andy!
- Team 56 - Katherine Paterson (Regina) and Joe O'Blenis. Finished the race even though Katherine developed a blood clot in her lung.Way to stick it out and FINISH!
Pretty darn good showing for Saskatchewan canoeing I would say.
Saskatchewan Centennial Canoe Quest
- Kisseynew Canoe Company entered a voyageur canoe team in the grueling Saskatchewan Centennial Canoe Quest 2005. The SCCQ was organized to celebrate Saskatchewan's 100th birthday as Canadian province. The (almost) 1000 km race covered a 2 week period across the historic Churchill River in northern Saskatchewan.
